BiographyKathleen N. Klein, 90, of Liberty, died Saturday, June 19, 2010 at her residence.She was born in Dodson, Missouri to Joseph and Anna Anthone Massood on February 9, 1920. Kay worked as a seamstress at Jay Garment in Brookville, Nettle Creek Sewing, and ultimately retired from South View Courts after fifteen years as a van driver. On April 19, 1969, Kay was wed to Donald F. Klein. She was a member of Old Franklin United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband; son and daughter-in-law: Glen Klein and Kimberly; three grandsons and their wives: Jason Klein and Nikki, Ryan Klein and Danka, all of Liberty, Kevin Klein and Wendy, of Cabot, Arkansas; a brother and sister-in-law: George Massood and Linda, of Leawood, Kansas; sisters: Martha Wingate, of Kansas City, Missouri, Mary Andes, of Independence, Missouri; six great-grandchildren: Kainin, Kaylee, Chloe, Landon, Joshua, Casey; brother-in-law: Francis Klein, of Liberty; sister-in-law: Kathryn Barnard, of Liberty; several nieces and nephews. Kay was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Leo Byrley, who died in 1963; 5 sisters: Pauline Massood, Amelia Scheel, Nezza Shiner, Margaret Langdon, Josephine Brock. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Fosdick Chapel, Liberty with Pastor Rusty Hollingsworth of Old Franklin United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in New Fairfield Cemetery, Sims Section. Friends may visit Tuesday from noon until the time of the service at the funeral home, where memorial contributions may be made to the Old Franklin United Methodist Church.
