Gregory A. Hines, 47, Sunman and former Connersville resident, died unexpectedly Monday, July 12, 2010 at his residence of a cranial aneurysm.
Greg was born on December 9th, 1962 to James A., Sr. and Pattie M. Thompson Hines in Elkhart. In 1981, he graduated from Connersville High School and had attended auto body class at Connersville Area Vocational School. He had been employed at Hil-Rom, Batesville, the past nine years and had worked at Greene Manufacturing, Connersville and D & L Paint, Liberty. Greg was an eight year member of the Eastern Indiana 4-Wheelers Club and enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and playing bingo. He was an adoring Papaw, loving Father, good brother and devoted son.
He is survived by his mother: Pattie M. Hines of Connersville; two children: Geramy A. Hines and his companion Sarah Melton, Liberty, and Amanda D. Hines, Everton; two brothers: James Hines, Jr. and his fiancé Felicia Oney, Bradley L. Hines; two sisters: Michelle Hines Burch and her husband Kevin, Debra Hines Horn and her husband Michael, all of Connersville; his fiancé: Debra Saylor of Sunman; two grandchildren: Jeramiah Allen Hines and Bentley Michael Steele; several nieces and nephews that he loved and his four-wheeler buddies.
He was preceded in death by his father, nephew: Dustin Horn; great-nephews: Hunter Conn, Christian James Hines, paternal grandparents: Duke and Arvilla Hines; maternal grandparents: John and Dorothy Reed.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville. Interment will follow in Dale Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, where memorial contributions can be made to the family to help defray funeral cost.
