Angela "Angie" Cornett Fowler

Angela “Angie” Cornett Fowler, 58, of Connersville died Saturday, May 17, 2025, at IU Health Methodist Hospital, in Indianapolis with her daughters by her side.

A Connersville native, Angie was born on September 3, 1966, to Alvin Cornett and Donna Sherwood Parrett. She attended Connersville High School. Angie worked at the Moose for many years and most recently at Shell. Angie considered herself to be a hippy with a free spirit. She was a simple woman who enjoyed feeling her knees in the breeze while riding on the back of a motorcycle. She found peace tending to her flower garden, fishing, and camping. Above all else, Angie loved her children and her grandchildren fiercely; she found no greater joy than being a Mamaw. Angie will be unapologetically remembered as the loving Daughter, Mother, Mamaw, and flower child that she was.

Angie is survived by her mother: Donna Sherwood Parrett; daughters: Amanda Holliman; Brittany Gwinnup and her husband, Brad; grandchildren: Dalton Harlan, Mason Brown, Abel J.J. Fowler, Samantha, Alex, and Brayden Gwinnup; Two special boys who called her Mamaw Annie: Bryar and Leighton Harlan; her sisters: Jennifer S. “Susie” Weesner and Lori A. Higgs; her best friend for over thirty-five years: Cheryl Webster; several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.

In addition to her father Alvin,  Angie is preceded in death by her stepfather: Donald G. Parrett; her precious son: Steven J.J. “Bub” Fowler who died August 26, 2016; companion of many years: Johnny Newhouse; niece: Kristin “Kri” Weesner.

Please come dressed as you are, wearing bright colors, tie-dye, etc. in honor of Angie.

The funeral service for Angie will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday May 24, 2025, at Showalter Blackwell Long, Myers Chapel, Connersville, with Mike Venable officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery Garden of Memories. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Showalter Blackwell Long to offset the cost of services.
