Connersville Native, Bret Allen Bergen, 59, died peacefully on November 11, 2025, at his residence.

Bret was born on November 23, 1965 to Carl Bergen and Sharron Evans. He graduated from Connersville High School in 1984. Bret married his true love, the former Lynn Myers on July 2, 2003, in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Together they shared five years prior to her death on December 28, 2008. Bret was currently employed at Takumi Stamping in Fairfield, Ohio as a die maintenance technician. He worked at Visteon from high school up until the plant closure. He enjoyed fishing and meticulously building model ships. Bret had a passion for woodworking and was very knowledgeable about the rare wood he selected for each project. He made yard art, homemade pens, and other creations. In addition, Bret enjoyed rebuilding motorcycles, and eating his favorite meals at Parkview Restaurant.

Bret is survived by his children: Kyle Carl Anderson, Joshua Bergen, Johnathan Bergen, and Danielle Escalante-Diaz; siblings: Belinda (Lisa) Bergen, Misha (Pat) Bergen, Jeremy (Dreama) Bergen; four grandchildren; niece: Bailey; nephews: Tyler and Bentley; as well as many extended family members and friends.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Lynn, Bret is preceded in death by his son: Christian Bergen.

A burial of cremated remains at Orange North Cemetery will be conducted at the convenience of his family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lupus Foundation of America or to the American Diabetes Association in Bret’s honor. Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
