Erica Ann “Red” Young, 36, of Cambridge City died Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at her residence.
The youngest daughter of Brian Young and Monica Shafer, Erica was born on December 11, 1988, in Connersville. She was employed at H.T. Hackney Co., as a merchandiser. Erica was a biker through and through. She recently got her own Harley that she was very proud of. She loved showing off her bike while riding with her dear friend, Tim. When Erica wasn’t riding, you could find her living the simple life and enjoying her time with her children, friends, and family. She was incredibly hard-working but always made time for her favorite people. Her smile was infectious, and it will deeply missed by those she leaves behind.
In addition to her parents Brian and Monica, Erica is survived by her children: Logan and Blakeley; sisters and their husbands: Janica and Gary Whipple, Tesica and David Newland; best friend: Timothy Coyle; canine companion: Oompy; many nieces and nephews including: Dawnica, Laiken, Bryant, Steven, Brexton, cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family members, and friends far too numerous to mention.
Erica was preceded in death by her brother: Raymond Rondell Richardson.
A Celebration of Erica’s Life will be conducted at 7:00p.m., Monday, November 17, 2025, at Showalter Blackwell Long, Myers Chapel, Connersville with Pastor Chris Lovett officiating. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m., until the time of service.
