Connersville resident Gregory Bowles, 63, died peacefully Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at Reid Health in Richmond.
Greg was born in Franklin County, Indiana on September 13, 1961 to the late Merle Bowles Sr., and Marilyn (Legere) Gabbard. He was a very hard worker who was employed as a stonemason. Greg was a simple, grumpy, loveable man. He was an avid outdoorsman who had a knack for hunting and finding mushrooms His ability to find mushrooms anywhere he was earned him the of “Mushroom Man”. Greg also enjoyed making dream catchers and hunting for arrowheads and turning deer antlers into jewelry and other works of art. His favorite thing was taking daily walks with his grandson, and spending time with his children and their families.
Greg is survived by his children: Gregory Bowles II and his partner Destiny Isaacs, Wilson Bowles, Robert Bowles, and Tabitha Bowles; siblings: Merle Bowles Jr, Cecil Bowles, Robert Bowles, Chester (Bear) Gabbard, Stacey (Gabbard) York, Christopher Gabbard; grandchildren: Sawyer, Ezekial, and Jiraiya; cousin: Tom Blevins; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Greg is preceded in death by his sisters: Sally (Bowles) Ford, Sherry Gabbard; brother: Jonathan Bowles.
Private services will be conducted at the convenience of Greg’s family. Showalter Blackwell Long has been entrusted with the arrangements.
