Jace William Helton, 12, of Liberty crossed the finish line on Friday, October 31, 2025, at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital with his parents and siblings by his side.
The oldest son of Travis and Mallory Davis Helton, Jace was a fighter from birth. He was born 10 weeks premature on November 10, 2012, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Jace attended Union County Middle School and was currently in the 7th grade. He was a lifelong member of Harmony Living Word Church. He was also a member of Union County 4-H where he proudly showed goats. An avid go-kart racer, Jace spent countless hours on the track fulfilling his passion. He also rode 4-wheelers, dirt bikes, side by sides, and anything with a motor and wheels for fun. In addition, Jace enjoyed fishing, listening to a variety of music, and spending time with his friends and family. He was hard-working, always willing to jump in and help wherever needed. Jace was an incredibly strong and courageous young man. He spent years of his life in and out of the hospital due to his health, but he never let it stop him. Jace will be remembered as the true fighter that he was and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know and love him.
In addition to his parents Travis and Mallory, Jace is survived by his siblings: Hanna, Ashlyn, and Kole; paternal grandparents: Robert “Rob” Helton, Anna and Joel Summers; maternal grandparents: Tommy and Pam Davis, Jim and Mandi Ketring; aunts and uncles: Jeremy and Angie Tipton, Dereck and Courtney Tipton, Dustin and Alli Tipton, Melissa Davis, Zach and Emma Davis, Rob and Jennifer Helton, Krista Helton; many cousins, extended family members, track family, and friends.
