Pattie Hines

Pattie M. Thompson Hines, 85, of Connersville died unexpectedly Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Reid Health in Richmond.

Along with her twin sister Peggy, Pattie was born on December 9, 1939, to John C. and Dorothy L. Thompson Reed in Fayette County, Indiana. She attended Brownsville Highschool where she was 1 of several sets of twins in her class. Pattie married James Alfred Hines Sr., on February 16, 1957. A hard-working woman, Pattie worked the assembly line with J & J, and waitressed at the Moose and Eagles for many years. Over the last several years she was employed seasonally with Pioneer. Pattie was a member of Crosspointe Biker Church. She enjoyed camping, boating, and fishing on Lake Cumberland. Pattie, who was the sweetest lady, tended to her flower gardens and cared for the neighborhood cats. She always enjoyed a good stroll through Goodwill or a trip down to the bingo hall. Pattie was a proud melanoma cancer survivor. However, nothing made her prouder than her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. They will remember her for her love and beauty inside and out.

Pattie is survived by her sons: James Hines Jr., Bradley Hines; daughter: Michele Burch and her fiancé Shawn Holland; brother: Raymond Reed; twin sister: Peggy Turnball; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; five great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Pattie is preceded in death by her loving husband of forty-six years: James, who died February 12, 2003; son: Gregory Hines; daughter: Debra Horn; sisters and their husbands: Karen and Barry McClain, Linda and Bill Finch; infant grandson: Christian James Hines; great-grandson: Hunter Conn; sister-in-law: Carol Reed.

The funeral service for Pattie will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 19, 2025, at Showalter Blackwell Long, Myers Chapel, Connersville. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery, section K. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m., until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to The Fayette County Cancer Society in Pattie’s honor.
