Richard E. Fosdick

Richard E. Fosdick, age 75, of New Paris, OH, passed away at home the evening of Monday, February 9, 2026, surrounded by family.

Born on September 24, 1950, in Richmond, Indiana, he was the son of the late Donald & Madge (Wright) Fosdick. He was a 1968 graduate from Jefferson High School and lived in the New Paris area his entire life. He retired from Alcoa/Silgan after 49 years of service. On November 20, 1991, Richard married the love of his life and best friend of 34 years, Victoria (Geis) Fosdick, who survives him. Richard and Victoria enjoyed their travels throughout the United States and Canada, especially in their camper with their best traveling companion and beloved cat, Stripe. 

Richard will be remembered for his resourcefulness and practical knowledge of being able to create or fix anything, his love of sweets, and a sip of tequila shared with his close friends every now and then.

He is survived by his children: Melisa Fosdick & Karen Dillhoff of Bellbrook, OH; Michelle & Vincent Todd of Millersburg, OH; Jennifer & Derrek Huffine of Centerville, IN; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren; three sisters: Barbara & James Mann of New Paris, OH; Elizabeth & Dale Toschlog of New Paris, OH; and Susan & David Steele of Eaton, OH and numerous nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the Hospice crew. Their genuine love, support, and friendship brought comfort and warmth on challenging days.

A celebration of Richard’s life will be on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, located at 312 West Union Street, Liberty. A private burial will follow for immediate family only.
