Richard Paul “Dick” Frasur, one day shy of 81, passed away Sunday morning, March 1, 2026, surrounded by love.
Born in Richmond on March 2, 1945, Dick was the seventh child of Joseph and Eleanor Schneider Frasur. He grew up in Liberty and attended Short High graduating in 1963. Dick was employed with D & M for 20 years and REMC for 15 years. Most recently, he was employed at one of his favorite places, the Liberty Golf course for 15 years. As an avid golfer, Dick spent many hours tending to and playing on that course with his golfing buddies. He was an avid sports enthusiast always cheering for IU basketball, the Cleveland Browns, and the Cincinnati Reds. However, his favorite teams to root for were the ones he coached. Dick coached each of his children’s baseball and softball teams. His dedication to his children and his love for the game helped mold, teach, and guide every child that stepped onto the field. In his spare time Dick enjoyed watching the horse races in Shelbyville and scratching lottery tickets. Above all, he adored spending his time with his children and grandchildren, especially on their last family trip to Hilton Head. Dick will be missed by his family, friends, and community that love him deeply.
Dick is survived by his sons and their spouses: Shayne and Julie Frasur, Tyson and Lemira Frasur, Erick and Wanda Frasur; daughters and their spouses: Stephanne and Kent Flint, Heather and Hank Brock, Megan and Greg Meier, Shaelyn and Johnny Biggerstaff; sister: Patricia Frasur Sizemore; grandchildren: Morgan Davis, Blake Frasur, Kayla Brock, Matt Frasur, Kelsee Brock, Derrick Frasur, Alyssa Flint, Keaton Flint, Ethan Frasur, Kamryn Brock, Hunter Biggerstaff, Kadence Brock, Bryant Flint, Chloe Meier, Brooklyn Biggerstaff, Campbell Meier, Wendy Klein, Ciera Miller, Toni Miller, Tiphney Jones, Josh Jones, Levi Lee, Alexa Voelp, Victoria McGowan; many nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, extended family members, thousands of golf buddies, friends, and his dog Augie who is now being cared for by his grandson.
In addition to his parents Joesph and Eleanor, Dick is preceded in death by his brothers: Robert “Bob” J. Frasur, Charles Frasur, Eugene Frasur, Joseph E. Frasur; sisters: Shirley Frasur, Mary Frasur Snyder; brother-in-law: Keith Snyder; sister-in-law: Margie Frasur; canine companion: Bella.
The family would like to thank McCullough-Hyde Oncology as well as AseraCare hospice nurses: Becky, Anji, Brittany, Cierra, and Lisa for their compassionate care.
In keeping with Dick’s love of sports, the family will be wearing sports attire for his visitation and encourage everyone to wear their favorite sports team’s apparel.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 6, 2026, at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Fosdick Chapel, Liberty with Pastor Ellis McQueen officiating.
