Steven J. Segrist, 75, of Port Charlotte, Florida and formerly of Norwood, Ohio, died peacefully Sunday, July 27, 2025, while listening to Hotel California.

The eldest of fifteen children, Steven was born on May 4, 1950, to John H. “Chic” and Angela Teismann Segrist in Great Lakes, Illinois. He attended and graduated from Purcell High School with the class of 1968. Steven was employed in hospitality, as a bar tender. He enjoyed warm climates spending a good portion of his life living in Mexico, Belize, and most recently Florida. A private person, Steven, kept his circle small and lived a simple life. While enjoying the heat, you could find Steven listening the Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin while sipping on his drink.

Steven is survived by his siblings and their spouses: Maria Segrist, Pattie Minniear, Chris and Kim Segrist, Martha and Bill Lack, Susan Segrist, Nicky and Julie Segrist, Terry and Vicki Segrist, Tommy and M Segrist, Teddy and Jen Segrist; sisters in law: Sheila Segrist; Joelle Segrist; several generations of cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family members far too numerous to list.

In addition to his parents, Steven is preceded in death by his brothers: John H. Segrist Jr., Bobby Segrist, Michael Segrist, Tony Segrist, and Donald Segrist; sisters-in-law: Kate Segrist, Barbara Segrist and Brenda Segrist; Niece: Kelsie Crow.

At Steven’s request, no services will be conducted. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dearborn County Special Olympics  https://secure.e2rm.com/p2p/fundraising/390915/participant/5523323/en-CA  in his honor. Showalter Blackwell Long, Myers Chapel, Connersville has been entrusted with the arrangements.
