Steven Vest

Steven Vest, 47, of Lawrenceburg, Indiana died Saturday, October 4, 2025, with his family by his side.

The son of Garry Vest Sr., and Victoria (Kimmon) Vest, Steve was born on November 25, 1977 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Steve had a 23 year career as a painting and remodeling contractor, was a skilled carpenter and specialized in historic restoration. He proudly owned and operated Vest Painting and Repair with his oldest son. As a member of Harley of Cochran Motorcycle Club, Steve always found peace on his Harley, with the wind in his beard. When he wasn’t working or riding, you could often find Steve hanging out with his friends and having a few beers. In addition, he enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with his children, and playing with his dogs, Dillinger and Oliver. Steve had an infectious smile and an unapologetic sense of humor. He was always the life of the party, and his presence will be dearly missed.

In addition to his mother Victoria, Steve is survived by his children: Steven Lane Vest and his wife Ashlynn, Kory Grace Vest, Lilly Ann Vest, Carter Mason Vest; grandchildren: Johnathan, Waylon, Everlynn, Warren; brother: Garry Vest; sister: Brandi Holt; mother of his two oldest children: Sara Werner Vest; mother of his two youngest children: Carla Smith; lifelong friend: Allan Cornelius several nieces, nephews, extended family members, many, many friends and a few mistresses.

In addition to his father Garry, Steve is preceded in death by his uncles: Walter and Larry “Peewee” Vest.

A Celebration of Steve’s Life will be conducted Saturday, October 18, 2025. Family and friends may gather from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 25120 Jacobs Rd, Guilford, IN 47022. Memorial contributions may be made out directly to his children to offset the cost of services. Showalter Blackwell Long, Myers Chapel, Connersville has been entrusted with his arrangements.
