Ann was born in Connersville, IN, on Thursday, January 4, 1951, to Harley and Mary Jane Weston, both of whom preceded her in death. She was a 1969 graduate of Connersville High School, worked for two local veterinarians, then served as the Director of the Fayette County Animal Shelter for over 30 years.
Ann loved spending time with her family and spoiling them with delicious, home-cooked meals. She was a gifted artist whose work reflected her deep appreciation of nature and animals. Many paintings and sketches featured birds, pets, flowers, and trees and were donated or gifted to her loved ones. She loved to read and write. She would kindly ask anyone reading this to please spay or neuter their pets and be kind to animals. She attended First United Methodist Church.
Ann is survived by her children: Lee Ann Wilson and her husband, Michael, of Glenwood; Jennifer Rebecca "Becky" Hockersmith of Connersville; Ryan Evan Hockersmith and his wife, Ashley, of Connersville; her siblings and their spouses: John and Karen Weston of Danville, KY; Jim and Kayla Weston of Parrish, FL; and Ava Moore of Connersville; her grandchildren: Ashley, Chelsea, Evan, Sawyer, and Hayden; her brother-in-law, Bill Hockersmith; her sister-in-law, Maria Gabbard and her husband, Dan; several nieces and nephews.
Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Eugene Hockersmith, whom she married March 29, 1969, at the First United Methodist Church; her parents, Harley and Mary Jane Weston; her brother, Paul Weston, and his wife, Pat; her brother, David Weston; her brother-in-law, Dale Moore; her sisters-in-law, Teresa Steele and Teresa Hockersmith.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026 at First United Methodist Church in Connersville, Indiana. A memorial gathering will be from 3:00-5:00 p.m. and a celebration of life service will immediately follow. A meal will be provided afterward in the church fellowship hall for family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fayette County Animal Shelter, First United Methodist Church, or a GoFundMe that will support Ann's daughter and long-term caregiver, Becky Hockersmith.
